Dear All,

This is a kind reminder about the upcoming Interdisciplinary Seminar in Empirical Social Science (ISESS), organized by the Centre of Excellence in Social Sciences at the University of Warsaw.

The seminar will be led by Carolina Plescia from University of Vienna. 

The title of the presentation is:

“Are Supporters of Democracy Good Losers?”

Please note: This seminar will take place in a different location than usual – in the Kazimierz Palace.

You can take the elevator to the 3rd floor, which is the attic level where the Senate Hall is located.

About the talk:
Using representative German data, the authors find that stronger support for democratic principles does not increase acceptance of unfavorable electoral outcomes. In fact, individuals with the strongest democratic convictions are least willing to consent to results favoring the far-right AfD or other dispreferred parties.
